Fall is Here

It definitely feels like a strange transition to fall with the weather not cooperating! That extra hour can throw our animals off too—they don’t get the memo about the time change! For those with pets, that internal clock means they’re often up at the same time for meals, walks, or attention, regardless of what the clock says.

This is actually a good thing to get my butt out of bed a little earlier makes me more productive all day.

Pets are so in tune with our emotions, and the holidays can amplify that stress. They’re picking up on our cues—whether it’s the cortisol scent, changes in our routine, or the increased activity around the house. When they sense our anxiety, it can make them feel unsettled, triggering their own stress responses.

To help keep them calm, it’s a good idea to keep a consistent schedule with their feeding, walks, and even set aside some quiet time together. Providing a cozy, safe space where they can retreat if things get too hectic can also make a big difference.

Meditating or having a quiet moment with your pets can be so grounding, not just for them but for us too. Animals are incredibly receptive, and it’s amazing how naturally they join in when we’re calm and still. Taking even five minutes to sit in a peaceful spot, breathing deeply, often brings them over to rest beside us, soaking up that calm. It’s as if they’re little relaxation mirrors, reflecting the tranquility right back to us.

Reiki and massage are also wonderful tools. Reiki’s gentle energy works beautifully on animals and their people, easing tension and promoting better sleep and balance in both our systems. Having a reiki sessions for yourself with your animals in the same room will allow them to receive the same benefits as you. Stress relief, relaxation, better sleep.

And who doesn't enjoy a massage to help them relax. Dogs truly enjoy a massage to help them relax as we do. Sorry people you will have to find your own massage therapist.

Let's enjoy the upcoming holidays while staying relaxed and grounded. And if you or your pets would like to try some reiki be sure to reach out to me. PS, your dog already booked their massage.
